I got this couple of years ago, used it half dozen times and stopped using is because you can only put in three shirts or one pair of jeans. Then you crank the handle, wring, fill with water again, and go through the same process to rinse. It's too much work.

Now, I put all my clothes into the kiddie tub, fill up with water, put little detergent and step into the tub and stomp on laundry for few minutes. Kinda like you see people stomping on grapes to make wine. It works better than hand cranked washer, I can wash a lot more at one time but I still have to wring water out. So I take the easy way out and run spin cycle on the washer, then hang to dry. I think my method works just as well, if not better.

I got one from my sister a few years ago because we take long trips on our sailboat. It is wonderful! I have found that I also make very good use of it at home for small loads, and I love knowing that it is earth-friendly. However, I recently tried to order one for my in-laws for a Christmas gift, and aside from the initial confirmation that my order was received (nearly 2 weeks ago), I have had no further confirmation from laundry-alternative.com. I have contacted them via email twice and telephone twice, and still nothing. Can anyone tell me anything about this site? Is there anyplace else where I can order this item & still possibly have it in time for Christmas???

I bought one of these YEARS ago (while I was in college) - and it works great. The ONLY problem I have with it is that the clothes come out SOAKED, so you still need to wring them and dry them.

I suggest a bit of elbow grease and a clothesline. :)

But then you'll need to iron...

It's still worth using - especially for small loads and stuff that should use the gentle cycle in a normal machine. And if your "unmentionables" are wrinkly - who cares?

Namaste,
