Target: Selling Reusable Shopping Bags

Target’s reusable shopping bag, originally developed to comply with new laws in California is making its way across the country.  The reusable shopping bags have just begun to appear in Target stores on the east coast.  Yay for Target!

The bags are made from recycled polypropylene fabric and are traditional Target red in color.  Available in two sizes the bags self zip into a small pouch for convenient storage.  Selling for $1.49 for the larger size and $.99 for the smaller bag the new bags offer Target shoppers an eco-friendly way to reduce the use of disposable plastic bags.

Hopefully with a store like Target advocating using reusable shopping bags, the practice will be adopted by more people a little more quickly.

I’ll have to check them out. How long do they last for? Are they good quality?

I bought 6! They have the large and small ones for $.97 each at our local Target. I would say they are decently made, and certainly hold a LOT more than plastic.
Now if only I could figure out how to eliminate the need for the plastic bags you have to use in order to get your veggies….

Also seeing (and buying/using) these at our “Big Y” (local grocery store chain). Glad to see them and use them, and thanks for reporting them!

These bags are about $1.50 here in the Denver area. Safeway also has their own bags for about $1.

I thought this was a great move for Target. Now if they would only convert the rest of their store into eco-friendly products & organic products, like at this website: poshorganix.com
