Sustainable Design Lili Webcam

United Pepper , a company from Europe has released a sustainable design webcam known as Lili.

It was designed in Belgium and manufactured in Vietnam. It comes in recycled packaging for a reduced CO2 impact with body components made of sand, cotton and kapok. Lili captures the environment in 1.3 mega pixel , and also has a built-in microphone for video calls. There is also the United Pepper Oscar USB Hub that comes with 4 USB 2.0 ports. (more…)

Philips’ New Eco-TV Uses Only 75 Watts

This new 42-inch LCD “Eco TV” by Philips was announced at CES 2008 (Consumer Electronics Show). The television certainly has a lot of energy saving features that make it possibly the most efficient TV on the market.

The Twike’s definitely not your typical EV

The fully electric, zero emissions Twike car was originally designed by some students in Switzerland in the 1980s and then taken on by a German firm, Fine Mobile GmBH, which added electric batteries and regenerative braking to the current iteration. The product site says that the fitted 5-gear box allows comfortable pedaling at speeds between 15 and 45 mph. The good thing about the car is that you can pedal to produce up to 500 watts in tandem with a passenger to extend the range of the car by up to 50%. (more…)

Panasonic, Sharp, and Toshiba form recycling partnership

Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba have just announced that they’ve formed a new joint venture named Electronics Manufacturers Recycling Management Company, to handle collection and recycling of their products in the US.

MRM seems to have formed in response to some new strict regulations recently passed in Minnesota, as well as similar regs that are about to go on the books in Connecticut, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, but the idea is to provide recycling programs to state and local governments and other manufacturers — and to that end, MRM already has deals with Hitachi, JVC, Mitsubishi, Philips, Pioneer, Sanyo, and Syntax-Brillian.
