If you want to commute green and don’t have a long journey to work, then the XM-2000 electric scooter is a viable alternative. This vehicle from China is powered by a 2kW electric motor and 60V batteries. It retails for just $2,000, so don’t expect to hit killer speeds as the best it can do is 45mph, tops, with a range of 30 miles before you need to head towards a nearby power outlet. Guess people living in small towns will benefit most from something like the XM-2000.
